Lloyd Instruments has announced the launch of TCD WEDGE communication software for the Chatillon® range of advanced digital force testers. TCD WEDGE supports serial data communications between a Windows®-based PC and the TCD Series of single column digital force testers, the LTCM Series of motorized testers and the DFX, DFE and DFS Series of force gauges.

Although the TCD series, LTCM series and DF series are completely self-contained and require no additional software for operation, it can be useful to download their results to a PC for further processing, storage or printing. The TCD WEDGE software utility fulfils this need by allowing measurement data to be sent directly to a Microsoft Excel® żle on the PC via an RS-232 serial connection.

The software is designed for use with Microsoft Windows XP® or Vista® operating systems. Communication set-up is fully automated, including creation of the Excel® file. TCD WEDGE is multi-lingual, offering a choice of English, German, French, Spanish and Italian. All data are time and date stamped to provide an audit trail.

The Chatillon^® TCD Series are advanced force testing systems optimized for production, quality control and engineering applications. They can be used for tensile, compression, shear, friction, flexural and complex spring testing at forces up to 5 kN (1124 lbf). The LTCM Series of motorized testers, combined with a Chatillon gauge, is perfect for applications requiring an economical solution to tensile or compression testing. The DF series of digital force gauges can be used for handheld and test stand applications. They are supplied with uncertainty calculations to ISO/IEC 17025 and a calibration certificate with NIST data.
